Skyrim Will Be Weird Like Morrowind
Limbo strayed away from Morrowind's weirdness in favou of the mundane, says Bethesda, and it wants to get bet on to the weird for Skyrim.
Information technology's been eld since I well-tried playing Morrowind, but I calm recollect the moment I saw my first silt strider. It was that moment that I first mat up that this gamey's world had something to pass beyond stereotypical "high fantasize." Relatively, Oblivion started you inactive in Standard Nonmodern Urban center #47, and while umpteen enjoyed it nonetheless, its levels of bizarritude were on the lower terminate of the scurf.
Public speaking with OXM UK, Bethesda boss Todd Howard aforesaid that the studio wanted Skyrim to return Sir Thomas More to the mother wit of singularity that permeated the third base game in the Elder Scrolls series:
"With Oblivion, we're dealings with the chapiter province, and we desirable to return to the more classic Arena and Daggerfall feel of a fantasy earthly concern that matt-up more refined and hospitable. A lieu that you outright interpreted. But in that, we sacrificed some of what made Morrowind specific; the wonder of find."
IT wouldn't embody super-duper-totally weird, aforesaid Howard, only rather a residuum of the 2. "[Bethesda is] nerve-wracking to add whatsoever of that back and walk the line between Morrowind and Oblivion. Where it's at basic known looking, simply has its own unique culture and spin thereon."
As daylong as the world has its own unique identity, I don't think anyone can really complain about it being a little more accessible.
So … is this a yes connected the tentacle bear issue, Bethesda? Any fantasy land can have something worldly like a bear killing woolly mammoths, but a tentacle bear? That's something you just won't find anywhere! Well, maybe Japan.
